There might have something special on this particular Galaxy Apps or rather than just some kind of an introduction to those who haven't tried and used it before.  But the valuable part of the update is the Fingerprint Scanner which can be use to unlock the phone by those who already have a Microsoft Exchange accounts.

The G900VVRU1BOD5 is now the 3rd Lollipop update landed on Verizon Galaxy S5 devices.  Stayed still in Android 5.0 base, which is apparently not the Android 5.0.2,  just like the ones found to the its successor — the Samsung Galaxy S6. According to Verizon Wireless support the update will be available via Over-The-Air (OTA) update but there are no indications to when the roll out will actually starts.  So just keep an eye of it through your Galaxy S5 settings, from Home Screen tap Apps>Settings>About phone>Software update.

Verizon Galaxy S5 Lollipop Update G900VVRU1BOC4, 2nd Rollout

Verizon Galaxy S5 SM-G900V  gets new Lollipop update to G900VVRU1BOC4. The update is still base in Android 5.0 "LRX21T"   and this the second time around the latter receives a Lollipop update next to the previous version G900VVRU1BOA8 way back in February.  Noting that Verizon is the first US carrier who unleashed the Lollipop update on Galaxy S5 in USA alone. Whilst some carriers did not released any Lollipop update yet and has stayed in Android 4.4.4 KitKat until now.

Here's what the software update reads in the system settings, Settings>>About Device:

Device Name: Samsung GALAXY S5
Model Number: SM-G900V
Android: 5.0 Lollipop
Baseband Version: G900VVRU1BOC4
Kernel version: 3.4.0-3846539
Build number: LRX21T.G900VVRU1BOC4
Hardware Version: G900V.05
KNOX Version: 2.3
Build date:  March 18,   2015
AP: G900VVRU1BOC4
CP: G900VVZW1BOC4
CSC:  G900VVRU1BOC4

In addition, while taking a closer look to the G900VVRU1BOC4 firmware build itself, it has the same kernel build version to G900VVRU1BOA8.

So the update might only brings some several improvements, bug-fixes and system enhancements. Whilst keeping the main key-features we have seen on the first update (G900VVRU1BOA8).

The Lollipop update technically brings some new features and enhancements such as Material Design, Lock screen, Touchwiz, Floating action button,  Interruption and Recent.  Just do read at Verizon support page to learn more of these new features are all about.
  • MATERIAL DESIGN
  • BASIC INTERACTION
  • LOCK SCREEN
  • TOUCHWIZ
  • FLOATING ACTION BUTTON
  • INTERRUPTIONS
  • RECENTS

So for those who already received the Lollipop update on the first week of February, might already get the update earlier as it was started in March 28 and still gradually rolled out in stages until now. The update weighs at 117 MB file size for the first update and 904 MB  for the actual Lollipop update. It depends on what Android version the device running and it might take around for 10 to 20 minutes to download and install.

Just head-over to Verizon’s support page — to learn about the specific definition of those addressed technical changelog by Verizon Wireless. Again the update usually released in stages, but better check the update if you have not seen the update yet. Just follow this step-by step-by-step instructions at Verizon (.pdf).

Just make sure your Galaxy S5 SM-G900V should not have been rooted.  If you have root, you must unroot your device first so you can perform an update without any hiccups or else you will just get into troubles on how to get the Lollipop update.

Verizon Galaxy S5 SM-G900V gets the official Android 5.0 Lollipop update to G900VVRU1BOA8! Samsung and Verizon has just started rolling out the Android 5.0 Lollipop update containing the build number LRX21T.G900VVRU1BOA8 to all Galaxy S5 SM-G900V users. Verizon Galaxy S5 users will receive two OTA updates from Android 4.4.4 G900VVRU1ANK2. The first one is an updated version of Android 4.4.4 KitKat that comes in build number G900VVRU1ANK7 which technically prepares the device in compatibility mode to receive the Android 5.0 Lollipop. Then followed by the Android 5.0 Lollipop firmware build LRX21T.G900VVRU1BOA8.

Verizon is the first US carrier that had to unleashed the first Android Lollipop update on Samsung Galaxy S5 in United States alone. While other carriers like Sprint, T-Mobile and AT&T might as well and being expected to roll out the awaited Lollipop update to their own versions of Samsung Galaxy S5. As the Android 5.0 update has been gradually rolled out but might would not be taking too long enough before the Android 5.0 Lollipop update also reaches on all countries and carriers worlwide. Noting that the international Samsung Galaxy S5 G900F, which the latter received the Lollipop update earlier in December and the Galaxy S5 G900H also got its first Lollipop update a while ago. Sprint also have its own Android 5.0 update being leaked, so this is a good indication that all US Galaxy S5 users will completely received the Android 5.0 Lollipop update very soon.

Anyway, if you have a Samsung Galaxy S5 and happens to be from Verizon then you are lucky enough to get the Android 5.0 Lollipop update. The update itself is technically ends-up into software build number LRX21T.G900VVRU1BOA8, see the attached screenshots so you will not get confused about what was posted in Verizon's Knowledge Base such as LRX21T.G900VVRU1BNLC and also posted in other tech-websites. Looking at G900VVRU1BNLC it's a December 2014 build, so basically it was already there earlier last December 2014 under a test-run but was then revised and finalized in January 27 and also being changed the build number to LRX21T.G900VVRU1BOA8 to cope up as 2015 update.

Verizon Galaxy S5 got a new software update to build version KOT49H.G900VVRU1ANK2. The G900VVRU1ANK2 appears not an Android 5.0 Lollipop update as everyone might expect to come this  holiday season, but still base in Android 4.4.4 KitKat.  The former targets and brings fixes to the VPN connectivity issue and an issue where some users saw a memory card error “Blank SD card or unsupported files” after the last software update — 4.4.4 G900VVRU1ANI2.
The update iself also replaced the ISIS mobile wallet with Softcard.

In addition, there are no official Android 5.0 Lollipop in U.S. Those who might not yet knew, the Android 5.0 has been already rolled out in Poland at this time being only, whereas other countries might get it much sooner. Be patient. There is no need to rush-in as the Android 5.0 still not so perfectly stable yet as there are still some bugs found that needs a concrete stabilization. You can even see this issues on Nexus devices that gets the 5.0 Lollipop ahead of other Android devices.
